    Ballin Lough, Co. Mayo

Ballin Lough is a rich limestone lake of 22 hectares located 2 miles North of Westport, which has earned a reputation as a fine rainbow trout fishery. A high proportion of the stock is introduced to the lake as fry and the fish grow on naturally to produce superb quality trout to the rod. The trout in Ballin Lough offer excellent sport, in that they fight hard and present an enjoyable challenge to catch. Bumble, Nymph and Damselfly patterns work well. The lake has a number of boats for hire, a car park, jetty, angler’s shelter and toilet. Ballin Lough closes on October 31.
