River Nore
Including tributaries; the Kings River and River Erkina

This big river holds good stocks of brown trout. The best of the fishing on the main channel is
upstream of Thomastown and on the Kings River. The river has prolific fly hatches. There are
sedges in profusion and hatches of olives and stone flies are also very common. Many stretches
are controlled by angling clubs and private owners where permits are required. These can be
obtained in local fishing tackle shops in the nearby towns. The season runs from the 17th of
March to the 30th of September. All legitimate angling methods allowed depending on the
fishery rules.

River Suir
Including tributaries; the Drish, Nire, Tar, Ara and Anner.
Thurles, Holycross, Golden, Cahir, Ardfinnan, Clonmel and Carrick-on-Suir, Co. Tipperary
The Suir is one of the premier trout angling rivers in the country. This big river and tributaries have very good hatches of flies throughout the season including many species of olives, midges, mayfly, and many different sedges. There are many angling club stretches from Thurles all the way to the Carrick-on-Suir. Permits are required on all stretches and are available at fishing tackle shops in nearby towns. The season runs from 17th of March to 30th of September. All legitimate angling methods allowed depending on the fishery rules. Fishes well all year.
