Catch of the Week April 29th
This week the Catch of the Week goes to Lyndsey Clarke for this lovely 5lb 12 oz trout from Lough Melvin. Lyndsey was fishing wet fly to trout feeding on sedges on Sunday and had a few fish and lost some others but towards the end of the day he got this beauty on a size 10 Green Peter. After a quick photo, the trout was back in the water a wiser fish.
Catch of the Week 22 April
This week the Catch of the Week goes to George Cummins from Sydney Australia for this huge salmon. George had a half day fishing on Lough Currane with his dad. The pair went out with their Gillie Mr. Dominic McGillicuddy. Within minutes of starting the troll George, 11 years old, hooked this enormous fish. George eventually won the struggle between fish and boy and a fine salmon was landed. On weighing the fish came in at 17lbs 10oz.
Catch of the Week 15 April
This week the Catch of the Week goes to Dublin man Philip McBride. Phillip was fishing with Burkhard Hobler. The pair were trolling on Good Friday just off Inishmicatreer when Phillip hooked and landed a monster ferox trout of 16 lbs 3oz. The fish was officially weighed on a certified scales and will be submitted for a specimen award. Burkhard can be contacted through his website at www.inishmac.com or email email@example.com.
Catch of the Week 08 April
This week the Catch of the Week goes to Anthony Scally. Boyle and District Angling Club hosted the 18th Annual Easter Pike Angling Festival over the weekend on Lough Key in reasonably favourable weather conditions. Fishing a popped up dead bait Anthony caught this magnificent 30lb pike which won him the Perpetual Cup and a cheque for €3,500. After weighing and a quick photo the pike was carefully returned.
Catch of the Week 01 April
This week the Catch of the Week goes to Anna Theedom who fished the Waterways Ireland Junior Classic on Sunday on the Erne near Enniskillen. Fishing in the under 14 age group 11 year old Anna Theedom, one of 2 girls fishing the competition, caught 1.260 kg from peg 20 on Derrychara for victory.
